Another week of birdies

So after the usual underwhelming birdie fest of the Open Championship (and profit), the 3M open at TPC twin cities offers another week of wide fairways and big greens.

A shorter blog this week and a few high price picks this 7341 Yard Par 71 track doesn't discount a single player, so some huge prices and small point investment is the order of the week.

Selection 1 is a huge price in terms of ability, form and the players he is up against. Davis Riley has been at the top of leaderboards all year. With 5 top ten finishes, a second at the Valspar and 13th and 31st in the PGA and US open respectively. He has solid stats throughout, no weaknesses and like Fitzpatrick before him I believe his experience of contending and falling short on a few Sunday's this season could be a positive. 5pts 25/1 8 places ew with Skybet is a lock.

My 2nd pick is Nick Hardy. I'd refer everyone back to previous blogs for info on Nick, and like my next pick I'm looking at trends and value. He's a bomber off the tee, and after a great US open performance 13th he's way too big at 40/1 top 8 with Hills at 2pts e/w.

Hayden Buckley is given another go after a poor week last week, mainly because he's 100/1 top 8 with Skybet, 1pt each way.

My last 2 are again odds based more than anything else. I've spoken in previous blogs about the resurgence of David Lingmerth's putter. He isn't the longest hitter (but neither is Michael Thompson whon won here 2 years ago) but he has no obvious weaknesses if he can putt well, so at 300/1 he's worth 1 point ew top 8 with Skybet.

Lastly I'll have a dart at another massive price. 4 years ago I was very keen on two players who broke onto the scene slinging bombs on tour. Keith Mitchell was one but the other hasn't followed in his footsteps as yet; Kevin Tway is a wirey huge hitting son of top PGA pro Bob Tway. He won the Safeway open 4 years ago and hasn't kicked on since. He missed 10 cuts on the trot earlier in the season and is 149th SG off the tee this season which cites real problems driving. However 50th at the Barbasol and 22nd at the Barracuda in his last 2 starts show signs of improvement and for that reason alone he's worth 1pt ew 250s top 8 Bet365.

Summary below but also a note for the DP World Tour at hillside. Former winner here in the British Masters and also at Lytham, Links golf in the Northwest really does light up Marcus Kinholt. I usually leave the DP world tour alone but I was expecting odds of 25s for this week. He's 66/1 top 8 with Skybet so 2.5pts ew is massive for the Cazoo.

Davis Riley 5pts ew 25/1 top 8 Skybet

Nick Hardy 2pts ew 40/1 top 8 Hills

Hayden Buckley 1pt ew 100/1 top 8 Skybet

David Lingmerth 1pt ew 300/1 top 8 Skybet

Kevin Tway 1pt ew 250/1 top 8 Bet365
