So as we head to the land of no free speech unless you're Trans this week, it marks a year since that 70 footer from Nick Taylor. However this year we head over to Hamilton Golf and Country club for the RBC Canadian Open, at a place where Mcilroy spread eagled the field in 2019. Tree lined and undulating, the course will provide a test of accuracy and yield birdies, although the big hitters won't necessarily find an advantage. Accuracy and putting being the name of the game we have a short review on 3 selections this week and a reduced 20pt investment.
First up I see this place yielding similar results to Copperhead, and again I choose CAM YOUNG for obvious reasons. His putter needs to get hot, but this event throws up 1st time winners and at 28/1 in this field with Bet365 8 places we got 5pts e/w.
It's always a week to pick a Canadian and despite Connors being the obvious pick, I'm going with another poor putter this week, in the talented and accurate ADAM HADWIN. A winner on tour already, Adam is long overdue given his stats and maybe a Phoenix rising from the ashes story this week, after his brutal takedown by security on the 18th last year after Nick Taylor's victory. He finished 6th here in 2019 and his form this season has been strong yet hasn't quite played out on the bare face of his results. He's 45/1 with Bet365 this week 8 places and we go 3pts e/w.
Last up we quickly go to the talented lefty, BOB MCINTYRE. Bob has found his feet now on tour and in majors and every week he gets slowly better as he acclimatised to life in America. This is a price pick, as he is inexplicably 75/1 this week and gets our last 2pts e/w.
Apologies it's late and short, but it's been a manic week for me. Keep the faith
