Sh Sh Sh Sh Seamus

Well Cam Young didn't let us down for the first time ever. His withdrawal last Wednesday showed us a first decent return on him as he gave us 14 points back!!!! No reason was given by Cam but after a tumultuous year, maybe he's sacked another caddie or maybe he is reading the blog.

Southampton, Bermuda and the short Port Royal golf club 6828yards par 71 will be yet another birdie fest. All these guys will make a lot of birdies, but in Bermuda I like good putters and player with great short games, because they equalise the odd mistakes, and not making bogeys is almost as important as not making birdies. Lush fairways and greens that sit above and below the eye, screams opportunity. No one player has an advantage here, so form and star quality are to the fore.

Last week's main pick that would have been, skipped Mexico to return to his scene of glory in 2022 and SEAMUS POWER is out first pick. His win, chasing down the rosey cheeked Ben Griffin 2 years ago was all about irons and putter play, and with 8 top 20s on tour since June he is a rose amongst thorns in this field. His putting stats have dropped away at a time where his Tee to Green stats have improved, and at 82nd on tour SG Putting he is getting nothing out of the short stick, but he loves Bermuda greens and I really like his chances of rolling his rock. He is the worthy favourite this week, but at a tasty 16/1 8 places this week with Paddy Power we go 7pts e/w.

All 3 players have a live chance of winning this week, so although place money is there it is possibly the strongest team I've put together in terms of winning chances, but I appreciate that I could like a right royal arse come Sunday evening.

Next up I'm not sure if he has been on the blog yet, maybe once, but 5 top 10 finishes and a win at the Sanderson Farms last month have the 26 year old KEVIN YU heading towards the world's top 50, and this Arizona State graduate out of Chinese Taipei, will love the heat and won't be scared of any wind that can blow here. His first appearance in Bermuda last year saw him finish 3rd, he's the best player in the field tee to green statistically this week, and these lush surfaces could up his flat stick game to a place of success - I really fancy him. He's as big as 40/1 with Paddy Power 8 places this week and we use 4pts e/w.

Last up this week I had to bin off Ben Griffin due to price squeezing from the bookies, as 4 top picks wouldn't go into the algorithm. Another youngster just pushed Griffin and Matti Schmidt out of selection but for good reason as lefty sun hat wearing sensation JOE HIGHSMITH hits the blog with a bang. The 24 year old from Lakewood, Washington has had a wrap around to die for and is 69 under par for this fall series. 6th, 16th and 5th in the last 3 tournaments have him right up the top of the odds lists but still with play in the price, especially as he has gone close on a Sunday already. Regularly knocking on the door is a great trait, and for one so young to be getting such great lessons in contending so early, is a great sign. This lad has no weaknesses, and although he took time to warm to his first season on tour (Puerto Rico aside) he has 3 top 10s to his name in his rookie season and can absolutely win here. 35/1 8 places on Betfair we are 4pts e/w.

Go Well
