Travellers......but not as we know them

Somehow a designated event has made it's way to the utterly drivelly, crappy, pathetic butler weed (Blackadder III) TPC River Highlands this week in Connecticut. As a course it's somewhere that looks lovely to play, but as a test the rolling hills and trees offer very little danger to one of the shortest tests on Tour. A par 70, 6835 yard track, big hitters have very little pull here, and the likes of Todd, Reavie, Harman (almost made it in here) et al love to come here and tap their way around. Low scores will be the toast of the weekend as a glorified pitch and putt course (for Tour professionals) brings every player in the field into play.

As far as test go for punting this is an absolute nightmare in my opinion. A designated event means a small field of 70 and with Scottie at 4/1 this week odds seem a lot more compressed. I fancy so many players but this week we head with a 4 4 2 formation and a small 20pt investment week, with players who putt well and perform here. First up, given the baby bounce is much delayed, I'm very much warm on SAM BURNS. He took time out and has taken time to settle back in, but his putting has returned and a 6th PGA tour victory seems much closer now after 9th last week and a stress free week, and 4 top 15s in 5 starts. I like the link with the Valspar where he has won twice as this is a similar test and I love some of the 33/1 on offer with Paddy Power 6 places and we are 4 pts e/w.

Another player bang on the up is blog favourite TOM KIM. His putting is a bit of a worry as he isn't the best, but tee to green on a shorter layout, nobody in world golf fits this kind of test better. This lad could get his 3rd win and this week I really really fancy him to be right up there from the off. Pretty much all outlets are 40/1 on him and we go Paddy Power 6 places 4pts e/w again.

Last up we have astonishing odds in a small field for a previous winner here. HARRIS ENGLISH is a very streaky player, but on his day is world class. His tour form has been off for a while but strong showings in all 3 majors shows there is something in there screaming to get out. A winner here in 2021 and a 4 time tour winner, when Harris gets the putter going it's game on. It's a tad speculative as we are taking him on trust but if he can sort out his irons this week, he will roll his rock and anything is possible at a mind blowing 80/1 again with Paddy Power (but all outlets seem the same). 6 places and 2pts e/w.

Shout out to Seamus Power also who nearly went in the pick at 200/1 so if you fancy a speculative quid he's worth a mention. I'm not putting him up but just keep and eye on him as he is trending big time in my opinion.

Go well
